Devise a daily ‘to do’ list before you leave work each evening, listing the tasks in order of urgency/priority that need to be accomplished the following day.
Factor in walking as part of your daily/weekly list routine so that this becomes habitual. By planning your relaxation time you will focus more on achieving work tasks.
If much of your time is taken up with checking e-mails, make a conscious decision to only check e-mails at specific times daily in order not to waste valuable time.
Each week set yourself a time to walk as a reward for accomplishing those difficult tasks/ completion of a project you have been working on.
Evaluate your work methods. Are you utilising your time efficiently? Are your records in a user friendly format? Old systems are not necessarily the most effective!
If you are on flexi-time, build up some time by going in earlier, having a shorter lunch break and leaving later. You may log up a whole day to set aside for a ramble
Draw up a timetable at the end of each week for the following weeks tasks
Group your errands. Aim to group your meetings and errands together to minimise out-of-office
